The Bird’s Freedom
A free bird takes its place
high in the tree’s canopy,
or on the mountain’s peak,
while bipedal animals want it to pose.
“What do you want from me?” the bird sang.
An old bipedal animal replied,
“Please, keep your freedom near us;
without it, our world is hollow!”
The bird took flight suddenly,
continuing its song:
“Oh, my loved ones,
wings were created
to be spread timelessly;
I land to breathe and feel the beauty,
with or without you.
Still, I must fly so no one grows used to me.
Such is freedom, the last shared feeling.”
The bipedal being stood shocked;
it had no one else to follow.
