What is Intelligence?

A photo of an orchid, a plant that is capable to live without harming or being a threat to its host.

I’ve always struggled

with the word intelligence;

we consider intelligent

those who can outsmart

the rigged sytem;

we consider intelligent

those who dominate the land,

wiping out trees and flowers

in the name of development;

we consider intelligent

those who are eloquent

with hollow speeches

and self-centered discriminations.

What, then, is intelligence?

Is it to be one with nature?

Is it to share the climate struggle?

Is it to laugh, cry, hug, or push into the vacuum?

Is it to simply not destroy that which exists beyond thought?

Beyond laws and hatred?

Is it love?
